Hourly Rate: $22.23 - $27.37 (based on experience)
Role Overview:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will assist in managing patient flow and supporting providers in delivering high-quality care in a clinical setting. This role involves interacting with patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics, ensuring a collaborative and patient-focused environment. The CMA will work closely with providers, clinic supervisors, and clinic managers to meet organizational goals while maintaining compliance with medical regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
- Perform patient rooming procedures, including obtaining vitals and medical history.
- Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
- Collect laboratory specimens and conduct in-clinic lab tests.
- Provide telephone support and facilitate communication between patients and providers.
- Assist with prescription refills.
- Perform x-ray duties if certified and required.
- Conduct phlebotomy as needed.
Clinic Support:
- Assist with front desk and patient check-in duties.
- Order and stock medical supplies.
- Manage prior authorization processes for procedures and medications.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain adherence to regulatory, legal, and procedural requirements.
- Protect patient confidentiality and uphold all compliance standards.
- Document patient interactions accurately within electronic medical records.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:High school diploma or GED (required).
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (required).
- Certification & Licensure:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
- Experience:Previous experience in a clinical setting (required).
- Passed x-ray operators exam or willingness to take the exam as required.
- Skills:Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and computer applications.
- Travel may be required for certain clinic locations (applicable to Occupational Medicine settings).
