Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Hourly Rate: $22.23 - $27.37 (based on experience)

Role Overview:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will assist in managing patient flow and supporting providers in delivering high-quality care in a clinical setting. This role involves interacting with patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics, ensuring a collaborative and patient-focused environment. The CMA will work closely with providers, clinic supervisors, and clinic managers to meet organizational goals while maintaining compliance with medical regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

  • Perform patient rooming procedures, including obtaining vitals and medical history.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and conduct in-clinic lab tests.
  • Provide telephone support and facilitate communication between patients and providers.
  • Assist with prescription refills.
  • Perform x-ray duties if certified and required.
  • Conduct phlebotomy as needed.

Clinic Support:

  • Assist with front desk and patient check-in duties.
  • Order and stock medical supplies.
  • Manage prior authorization processes for procedures and medications.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain adherence to regulatory, legal, and procedural requirements.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and uphold all compliance standards.
  • Document patient interactions accurately within electronic medical records.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (required).
  • Certification & Licensure:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (required).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
  • Experience:Previous experience in a clinical setting (required).
  • Passed x-ray operators exam or willingness to take the exam as required.
  • Skills:Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and computer applications.
  • Travel may be required for certain clinic locations (applicable to Occupational Medicine settings).
