Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Location: Coos Bay, OR
Pay Range: $45.00 to $71.00 per hour, based on experience (union scale, non-negotiable)
Shift: Day or Night Shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 80 hours per two-week pay period
Weekend Requirements: Possible
On-Call: Possible
Position Overview
The IMCU Registered Nurse provides patient-centered care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing patients, providing education to patients and families, documenting care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the IMCU
- Educate patients and families on treatment and recovery
- Document all patient care activities in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to deliver optimal care
- Respond effectively to patient emergencies
- Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and unit demands
Required Qualifications
- Active Oregon RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three years nursing experience
- Two to three years of recent critical care experience
- Acute care hospital experience within the past two years
- Intermediate or progressive care experience
