About the Role
A leading thermoplastic fabricator is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant with a strong manufacturing background. This is a high-impact role designed to transition into a Controller position, offering the opportunity to build, improve, and lead accounting processes during an ERP system upgrade.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Focus

Learn and document current accounting systems (Sage), purchasing, WIP, and inventory processes

Support implementation and financial setup of a new Epicor ERP system

Develop and maintain accurate costing and burden tracking

Lead the monthly close and ensure financial accuracy and timeliness

Oversee daily financial activities and maintain ERP data integrity

Manage accounts payable/receivable and monitor the cash conversion cycle

Ensure compliance with all tax obligations (payroll, sales, state, and federal)
Future Growth

Collaborate closely with operations to align financial insights with production goals

Own financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

Analyze performance data and identify efficiency opportunities

Prepare financial reports and present plans to stakeholders and lenders

Support the company's long-term plans, including a potential ESOP transition
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, including cost accounting in a manufacturing environment

Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor experience a plus)

Strong knowledge of WIP, inventory, accrual, and cost accounting principles

Hands-on approach, willing to build processes from the ground up
