Were hiring a Service Technician to support a leading engineering client in Crystal Lake, IL. This hands-on role involves repair, calibration, field service, training, and demonstration of specialized tooling equipment. Youll work both in-house and at customer locations, including offshore assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and calibrate mechanical systems and tools (especially hydraulic and torque tools)
• Operate and troubleshoot technical equipment at customer sites and offshore environments
• Follow calibration procedures and standards to ensure tool accuracy
• Diagnose and perform minor electrical repairs or adjustments
• Modify, assemble, and prepare toolkits including painting, labeling, and organizing tools
• Track parts used, maintain inventory records, and assist with physical inventory counts
• Demonstrate tool use and train customers in one-on-one and group settings
• Support trade show booth setup and teardown
• Execute product conversions per production orders
• Provide customer service via phone and in person
• Maintain compliance with workplace safety procedures, especially in field and offshore settings

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on mechanical skills
• Familiarity with hydraulic and torque tools
• Understanding of calibration standards and procedures
• Basic electrical knowledge for tool diagnostics
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Inventory tracking and record-keeping skills
• Ability to train and demonstrate equipment use effectively
• Commitment to safety and compliance standards

Additional Information

• Training Period: 812 weeks depending on progress
• Overtime: Not expected during training; automatic when traveling
• Travel Incentives:
  • Onshore:
    • 16 days: $25/night
    • 613 days: $50/night
    • 14+ days: $75/night
  • Offshore:
    • $150/night regardless of duration
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Must be able to rent vehicles for travel
