Senior Architect (Team Leader)

Role Overview

As a Senior Architect (Team Leader), you will drive the architectural design and delivery of commercial, hospitality, institutional, and joinery-intensive Design & Build projects from concept to completion. You will lead a small team, act as the key design representative to clients and consultants, and ensure design excellence throughout all project phases. This role is ideal for a seasoned architect who thrives in a hands-on, client-facing leadership position.

This position is for an experienced architect who is confident in both concept design and client presentation, and who excels at leading and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate has strong creative sensibility, technical expertise, and a proven track record managing complicated projects and interdisciplinary teams. You’re equally comfortable resolving design details as you are pitching high-level ideas to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of Design & Build projects across all phases, including concept, schematic, detailed design, construction documentation, and as-built stages.

• Present design concepts and intents directly to clients and stakeholders, acting as the face of the studio's design.

• Maintain high standards of architectural quality and manage project documentation and deliverables.

• Mentor, lead, and manage a team of mid-level and junior architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance studio culture.

• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and project requirements.

• Oversee and approve all architectural deliverables, ensuring alignment with client objectives and compliance with regulations.

• Coordinate with interior designers, engineering teams, consultants, and in-house workshop to ensure cohesive project delivery.

• Drive technical quality control, including managing material libraries, permit drawings, and shop drawings.

• Lead and conduct site surveys, inspections, and project coordination meetings.

• Resolve technical and design issues arising during project execution and support procurement and cost alignment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.

• 5–10 years of experience in architecture or interior architecture, including at least 3 years in a team leadership role.

• Proven ability to create original, contextual, and buildable design concepts; a portfolio demonstrating this is required.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to and collaborating with clients.

• Strong creative sensibility and a refined aesthetic point of view, especially for hospitality, F&B, retail, or joinery-led interiors.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM or ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Suite; familiarity with AI-assisted rendering tools is a plus.

• Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, material specification, and local compliance.

• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, consultants, and workshop staff.
