The Business Systems Analyst is the liaison between the business group, vendors, and the information systems group. The Business Systems Analyst analyzes the project requirements, functional specifications, and assists the business in documenting the requirements to ensure the development of a comprehensive solution.

Job Overview

  • Develop relationship with business stakeholders and understand operations of every supported business group and their organization
  • Analyze business requirements and assist the business in documentation by organizing disparate requirements into logical categories
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and communicate requirements to the technical team
  • Bridge the gap between the business and the development team to clarify requirements
  • Identifies scope changes and assists the Project Manager in scope management
  • Assesses the design risks and identifies mitigating actions
  • Assist the business in user acceptance testing and training roll-out
  • Provide end-user manuals/instruction to the application support group, especially when it comes to resolving production issues
  • Facilitate turnover or transition of the project to the application support group during stabilization.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 4-year college degree in Computer Science, IT, Management, Banking or other related courses
  • At least 3 years of experience in a business systems analysis role with experience gained from the financial services industry
  • At least 3 years of experience in the IT industry
  • Knowledgeable with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
