Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Audit & Assurance Manager with a focus on the financial services sector. This role is responsible for managing audit engagements, leading teams, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients within banking, insurance, asset management, or related industries.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of audit methodologies, regulatory frameworks, and industry-specific reporting standards, along with a proven ability to manage teams and build strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage audit engagements for clients in the financial services sector, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
- Supervise and review the work of audit teams, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Maintain oversight of engagement planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Review financial statements, audit reports, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Liaise with client stakeholders and manage expectations around timelines, deliverables, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor engagement budgets, profitability, and resource allocation.
- Support internal quality control processes and contribute to audit methodology improvements.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Stay updated on emerging accounting and industry-specific developments affecting audit practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum 6-8 years of audit experience, with at least 2-3 years at a supervisory or managerial level.
- Experience auditing clients in financial services sectors (e.g., banking, insurance, investment firms).
- Deep understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, or local accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks relevant to financial institutions.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage clients and team dynamics effectively.
- Proficiency in audit tools and working knowledge of data analytics platforms is an advantage.
