Salary: Up to PHP85,000

As a QA medical coder, you will review patient medical records and assign codes to diagnoses and procedures performed so the facility can bill insurance and other third-party payers (such as Medicare or Medicaid) as well as the patient.

Coding medical charts with through the understanding of medical terminology, AMA guidelines, anatomy, physiology and procedures and assigning the appropriate CPT, ICD- 10 CM & HCPCS and special access codes based on medical documentation. Associate the diagnosis codes to the appropriate procedure codes (CPT) and sequence the codes in such a way as to insure proper reimbursement.

You will perform the following responsibilities:

  1. Determining the provider and keying the information into the system and accurately apply, differences in coding requirements for various payers, clients and state programmers.
  2. Ensure number of charts in batch equals to total received from clients.
  3. Quality checking of the coding of the documents done by the associates.
  4. Maintenance of daily and monthly quality reports.
  5. Keeping track of the errors and calculating accuracies of the associates.
  6. Undertakes feedback and training sessions wherever required.
  7. Conducting Specialty training for experienced coders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree holder
  • Should hold certificate from AAPC or AHIMA. BCHHC certification is added eligibility.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Home Health Coding, with at least 6 months of quality auditing/analysis (QA) in Home Health Coding
  • Has handled/audited at least 25 queues or transactions
  • Has the ability to coach or conduct training
  • Background in claims management and/or customer service is desired
