Job Summary:

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Assistant Manager Audit Advisory & Technical Standards to support audit methodology, technical research, and policy development. This role will be part of the professional practice group responsible for interpreting accounting and auditing standards, supporting complex audit engagements, and assisting in the development of guidance, tools, and training materials.

The ideal candidate brings experience in external audit, a strong grasp of evolving assurance standards, and an interest in audit quality, policy, and practice development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical research and provide guidance on the application of auditing standards, accounting frameworks, and regulatory updates.
  • Support the development, update, and implementation of audit methodologies, tools, templates, and practice aids.
  • Respond to queries from engagement teams on complex technical matters and audit execution issues.
  • Assist in reviewing firm policies and ensuring alignment with local and international standards (e.g., ISA, IFRS).
  • Contribute to technical training materials and participate in the delivery of methodology-related sessions.
  • Monitor regulatory and professional body updates to help assess implications for audit practice.
  • Collaborate with audit teams, quality reviewers, and leadership to promote consistent application of firm standards.
  • Support internal inspections and external regulatory reviews through technical documentation, follow-ups, and remediation tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accountancy or related field; must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in external audit, with exposure to complex audit engagements or advisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of international auditing standards (ISA), accounting frameworks (IFRS or local GAAP), and audit methodology.
  • Experience in technical research, policy writing, or audit advisory work is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in producing technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
