About the job Software Engineer II

Proficiency in C# .NET required. Knowledge of other development languages is preferred, as is knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, etc.)

Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.

Experience developing .NET web services.

Experience developing .NET console apps is preferred.

Experience with .NET Core is preferred.

Familiarity of industry best practices in development, especially for .NET.

Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

Knowledge of test-driven development is preferred.

Proficiency with SQL.

Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems, especially relational databases including MySQL, Sybase, and/or PostgreSQL.

Understanding of data modeling principles.

Ability to work with complex data models.

Knowledge in using applicable toolsets (Visual Studio, Git, SoapUI, Postman, etc.)

Experience with GitLab is preferred.

Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.

Good oral and written communications skills.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Proficiency with data manipulation languages.

• Ability to work with simple data models.

• Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.

• Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.

• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

• Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.

• Knowledge of data storage subsystems.

• Knowledge of test-driven development.

• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Complete simple bug fixes.
• Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments.
• All other duties as assigned.
