About the Role

We are working with the private equity division of a Tier 1 Chinese investment bank to recruit an experienced investment professional. This role sits within a prestigious and well-capitalized platform focused on growth-stage and buyout investments across Greater China and Asian markets, with a strong emphasis on AI, advanced technology, smart manufacturing, and TMT sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in private equity, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a proven track record in deal execution and portfolio management within a USD investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end private equity investments, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, transaction execution, and post-investment management.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth sector expertise in AI, automation, new materials, and technology-driven industries.
  • Structure transactions and negotiate terms alongside legal and financial advisors.
  • Drive value creation within portfolio companies and support exit planning, including IPO and trade sale preparations.
  • Collaborate with international teams on cross-border deals and fund operations.
  • Prepare investment committee materials and periodic portfolio performance reports.


Requirements

  • Masters degree or above in Finance, Business, STEM, or a related field from a leading university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in China private equity, investment banking, or venture/growth capital, with significant exposure to USD deals and cross-border transactions.
  • Deep understanding of the technology and industrial sectors in China and Asia; prior experience in AI, automation, or advanced manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Strong network and connections with investors in China.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and lead transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Senior candidates will be considered for an Executive Director title.
