Our Client a well established Engineering Firm in Roodepoort, Johannesburg West Rand is seeking the services of a Draughtsman with 5+ years General Civil Engineering Experience.

Experience: 5+ years General Civil Engineering Experience Required

Qualifications :

  • Certified AutoCAD Operator, or 
  • National Certificate: Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice or,
  • National Diploma in Engineering.

Registrations: Membership of the South African Institute of Draughting

Software: 

  • AutoCAD, other Autodesk packages. 
  • Civil Designer or Civil 3D advantageous

Salary:  R25 000 - R50 000  pm 

Duties 

There is no standardised list for the roles and responsibilities of the draughtsperson. Typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Promoting and applying employee engagement practices and
  • concepts, especially in relation to recognition, empowerment,

  • Promoting and applying ethical and professional practices
  • Is a resource to any project in any capacity which can be assigned to
  • any task by any Program or Project Manager if the task is assigned
  • using the resource management systems (Sciforma)
  • To perform all work in accordance with the Companys Quality
  • Management System (QMS), Policies and Standards
  • To perform the assigned duties, even in the absence of relevant quality and procedural workflows and templates, to the best of your ability
  • Taking full responsibility for the quality and compliance of your own work.
  • Work under the direction of an engineer / engineering technologist / engineering technician.
  • Prepare drawings in accordance with instructions received from the design team and conforming to the companys Drawing Office Standards.
  • Maintain accurate drawing revision control.
  • Take responsibility for the correctness of work done.
  • Undergo training in order to maintain existing skills or to develop new skills.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings as required.
  • Keep team members and project managers informed of workload and deadlines to assist with work schedule.
  • Assist, teach and mentor less experienced draughtspersons.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically.
