About the job Supply Chain Administrator
Our client, a well-established engineering organisation, is seeking the services of a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Administrator. If you have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Build Environment Professional Service Provider Bid submissions, preferably within the Engineering Consultant field, this opportunity is for you. The successful candidate should be familiar with bid processes on the Local, Provincial, and National level, as well as parastatal processes.
Qualifications:
- Relevant B-degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Quantity Surveying. OR
- Relevant Certification with at least 15 years of experience.
Software:
Proficiency in the following software is essential:
- MS Office Packages: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Adobe Acrobat
Duties:
As the Supply Chain Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and submission of Professional Service Provider Bids, RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFQs (Request for Quotations), and Expression of Interest documents in accordance with procurement document criteria.
- Management of Bid Database and Panel Appointments, including Validity Notices, responding to inquiries related to submitted bids, follow-up on closed bids, and identification of bids.
- Compliance with ISO Bid Process and Document Control.

To excel in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualities:
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Diligence and a sense of responsibility for the bid process, with basic knowledge of legalities pertaining to bids.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines with short turnaround periods.
- Capacity to handle multiple bids and tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to attend to urgent RFP and RFQ requirements.
- Proficient reading comprehension skills to understand bid criteria.
- Strong time management and task scheduling abilities to meet all criteria requirements.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to ensure timely bid submissions.
- Assistance in compiling technical proposals, as well as reviewing and assessing technical and financial proposals based on bid criteria.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate team members, bid partners, and sub-consultants.
- Problem-solving aptitude to address challenges and provide successful solutions in a time-sensitive environment.
- Strong English language skills, including grammar and spelling proficiency for proposal compilation and review.
- Accountability for the quality and compliance of your own work.
- Ability to perform assigned duties even in the absence of relevant quality and procedural workflows and templates.
- Understanding of industry codes, standards, client specifications, and legal requirements, including Construction Regulations.
- Familiarity with General Conditions of Contract applicable to the project (GCC, FIDIC, NEC, JBCC).
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Construction processes, Construction Quality Assurance and Control, Industry Standards, Construction Administration, and Progress Measurement.
Salary:
Cost to Company: R 40 000 - R50 000 per month. The salary for this position is negotiable and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
