Marketing Developer Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing marketing automation workflows within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Klaviyo.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in email and journey automation, deep understanding of customer segmentation and personalization, and solid experience integrating marketing systems through REST and SOAP APIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy email, SMS, and multi-channel marketing campaigns in SFMC and Klaviyo.

  • Develop and optimize automation journeys using Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Klaviyo Flows.

  • Create dynamic and personalized content using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, Liquid, and HTML/CSS.

  • Develop and maintain integrations between CRM, eCommerce, and marketing platforms using REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, and middleware solutions.

  • Implement A/B testing, audience segmentation, and end-to-end campaign performance tracking.

  • Manage data models, data extensions, subscriber management, and contact architecture across platforms.

  • Collaborate with CRM, Product, Analytics, and Creative teams to execute lifecycle and triggered campaign strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and best practices for deliverability.

  • Troubleshoot campaign issues, perform QA, debug scripts, and analyze logs, tracking codes, and reporting outputs.

  • Stay current on marketing automation trends and platform updates across SFMC and Klaviyo.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of hands-on development experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Klaviyo.

  • Strong experience in API development (REST & SOAP).

  • Proficiency in AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, Liquid, and HTML/CSS.

  • Experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and Cloud Pages.

  • Deep understanding of Klaviyo flows, segments, event triggers, and Liquid templating.

  • Proven experience integrating marketing platforms with CRMs, eCommerce systems (Shopify, Magento), and data platforms via APIs.

  • Familiarity with data extensions, subscriber management, and contact model design.

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills using logs, tracking codes, and performance reports.

  • SFMC or Klaviyo certifications (e.g., SFMC Developer, Email Specialist, Klaviyo Developer) are a plus.

  • Klaviyo experience is beneficial; SFMC experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, Customer Journeys, or Audience Builder.

  • Familiarity with marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI).

  • Exposure to Python or Node.js for custom automation or backend scripts.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence.
