User Experience (UX) Designer
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD | On-Site
Clearance Requirement: ACTIVE TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required)
About the Role
We are seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to support mission-critical national security systems by creating intuitive, user-centered interfaces for complex tools and platforms. This role focuses on balancing usability, design strategy, and technical collaboration within a highly regulated Agile development environment.
The UX Designer will work closely with engineers, product owners, and government stakeholders to translate complex requirements into clear, effective, and usable design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end user experience design activities for software applications, tools, and interfaces
- Support Agile development teams by delivering iterative UX input and regular design updates
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and workflow analysis to guide design decisions
- Develop wireframes, mockups, interaction flows, storyboards, and visual design artifacts
- Prototype and iterate on design solutions based on user feedback and stakeholder input
- Define and maintain UX and UI standards, design systems, and usability guidelines
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure alignment between design intent and implementation
- Facilitate user interviews, requirements sessions, and design review meetings
- Mentor team members on user experience best practices and research techniques
Required Qualifications
- Possess 10+ years of professional experience in user experience design

Possess 5+ years of experience leading full UX project lifecycles from research through delivery

Hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related discipline

Substitute four additional years of UX experience in lieu of a degree

Demonstrate application of user-centered design principles in complex or technical environments
- Demonstrate experience using wireframing and prototyping tools such as Axure, Figma, Visio, PowerPoint, or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrate experience designing data-driven interfaces, dashboards, or analytical tools

Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with engineers, product managers, and government stakeholders

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate success applying UX research methodologies to improve usability and workflow efficiency

Salary Range
$155,000 – $165,000 (USD)
