Job description

Role

We are looking for an experienced business developer to help execute our plan of growing our collaborations with universities, research organisations and R&D&I focused companies across Europe. In this role you will be responsible for creating new partnerships between Nordic Innovators and other organisations and companies. You will be an important driving force for reaching our goals of new clients and partnerships by identifying industries and clients with great potential, contacting, and engaging with these.

Tasks will include:

  • Actively searching for, contacting, and establishing relationships with R&D&I focused companies, universities, and research & technology organisations.
  • Assess organisations and their project ideas for national and European funding opportunities, e.g., in the EUs Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
  • Provide offers to potential clients and negotiate fees, service offerings and contract terms.
  • Forecast and set goals according to targets agreed with your manager. Be accountable for driving, measuring, and reporting on key inputs and outputs in our CRM (HubSpot).
  • Account management and possible key account management with responsibility of own portfolio of clients, following up with these and building our relationship with them over time.
  • Have a chance to co-develop and sell new services together with our consulting teams.
  • Collaborate with other teams to stay up to date with company developments.

Candidate requirements

  • Work permit for Spain, Norway, or Denmark.
  • M.Sc. /Ph.D. in a relevant field (preferably a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) background or experience in working with different types of technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or in building relationships with organisations and institutions.
  • Knowledge or experience of grant writing and/or soft funding programmes, e.g., national programmes in Spain or other countries.
  • Knowledge and experience of Horizon Europe or previous framework programmes.
  • Industry experience and a strong network.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with various stakeholders of different levels.
  • Full English proficiency is required both written and spoken. Other languages are a plus and especially proficiency in Spanish.
  • Thrive on change and be comfortable with challenges. A proactive self-starter that can take a desired goal and independently plan and execute strategies to reach it.
  • Can push us and be pushed without being offended. We love to be proven wrong, and you should too.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office 365.
