What youll do
- Maintain and develop the firms risk framework, including policies such as Risk Management Policy, Trading Book & Hedging Policy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead and support major risk management cycles including assessments of capital and liquidity (ICARA), stress testing, scenario analysis and winddown planning.
- Manage risk metrics: monitor exposure and limits, maintain exception logs, handle risk escalations, and produce clear risk reports for senior management.
- Conduct third party risk assessments (for banks, brokers, liquidity providers, vendors), manage outsourcing risk registers and ensure due diligence processes are robust.
- Coordinate cross department work (Compliance, Finance, IT, Dealing) to implement risk-related policies, audits and remediation plans efficiently.
- Prepare material for Board and Risk-Committee meetings summarising risk metrics, exposures, incidents and regulatory changes, enabling informed decision making.
What were looking for
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- 36 years experience in risk, audit or compliance within a regulated financial institution ideally with exposure to European regulations such as MiFID II, EMIR, DORA, ICARA-related frameworks.
- Solid understanding of finance, derivatives, liquidity and capital risk, probability/statistics or market structure concepts, plus strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent project management, documentation and communication skills able to coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines and interact with various departments.
- Proficiency in Excel (or other data analysis tools), strong attention to detail and disciplined approach to compliance, reporting and audit readiness.
