Brief description

This role is responsible for handling various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.

Core responsibilities:

Recording financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, in the organization's accounting system or software.

Support the Preparation and compilation of monthly financial statements and financial forecasts with report variances in a timely manner.

Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Preparing financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to present the organization's financial performance and position.

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Managing accounts payable by processing vendor invoices and payments and overseeing accounts receivable to ensure timely collection from customers.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Manage the quarterly VAT submissions to the FTA.
  • Design effective budget models for departments and the entire company. Analyzing financial information (e.g., revenues, expenditures, and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget.
  • Submit budget reports to the higher management of the organization for further scrutiny and approval in accordance with the approved policy.
  • Responsible for analyzing financial data and creating financial models to support decision-makers.
  • Analyse actual results to budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop a financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and identification of opportunities.
  • Assist CFO in short-term and long-term loan financing arrangements.
    Liaise with internal and external auditors to manage annual and interim audit processes
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Prepare finance-related documents for meetings as and when required.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience as an accountant in a reputable firm, preference will be given to Oil and gas industry experience.
  • SAGE X3 experience may add an advantage
  • University education in accounting, finance is a must.
  • CPA/ ACCA/ CMA is an advantage.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • MS Office: Proficient with MS Office Suite including strong Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, credit facilities, and treasury best practices and accounting treatment.
