About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical engineering and capital project delivery for one of our clients in Newfoundland and Labrador.
In this role, you will work as an embedded member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team supporting the design and execution of capital projects. Responsibilities include electrical design development, estimating, drawing and specification preparation, tender and contract support, commissioning and energization planning, and field support during construction and project closeout. You will also contribute to technical service requests and engineering standards development within the electrical engineering group.
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated start date of June 29, 2026, and an end date of June 25, 2027. Work will be based in St. John's, NL, with travel within Newfoundland and Labrador as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical design engineering support for capital project delivery
- Develop electrical designs, estimates, drawings, and technical specifications
- Support tender preparation, contract development, and contract administration activities
- Participate in commissioning and energization planning activities
- Provide on-site support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases
- Review engineering drawings and identify technical issues and solutions
- Support project closeout activities and turnover to operations
- Contribute to technical service requests and standards development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders
- Support consultant and contractor management activities as required
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with PEGNL
- Experience in utility electrical systems, including terminal stations up to 230 kV
- Experience with generation systems including diesel, gas turbine, thermal, or hydro facilities
- Strong understanding of electrical systems such as switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, and distribution equipment
- Experience in engineering design, drawing review, estimating, and project execution
- Experience in contract and consultant management considered an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with ability to work in multidisciplinary environments
- Willingness to travel as required

- Valid Canadian driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract required
