Northwest Talent Solutions is currently partnering with a leading hospital in the San Francisco, CA area in search of a viable, committed Senior Ultrasound Sonographer.  The ideal candidate will have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate to multiple sites and work shifts (8, 10 or 12 hour), also cover for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all of our clients San Francisco area locations. 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation:
  • Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from requesting physician and/or service prior to performing exam.
  • Prepare patient for imaging.
  • Prepare room and equipment prior to imaging and after completion of exam.
  • Demonstrate appropriate self-critique of exams to include ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.
  • Meet physical requirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonography studies in the inpatient as well as outpatient settings, including but not limited to: performing portable exams, transferring and transporting gurney and wheelchair
  • Maintain RDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.


Role Requirements:

  • Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school
  • Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.
  • Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.
  • Requires (2-5) years UCSF experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department at UCSF. OR New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.
  • Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria
