About the Opportunity

Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is partnering with a leading environmental and sustainability-focused organization to hire a Plant Manager for a high-volume Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own the full operational performance of the facility—including safety, cost, throughput, team leadership, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Own

• Lead day-to-day operations across:
  • Sorting, loading, and site flow
  • Equipment performance and uptime
  • Cost control and operational efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives:
  • Reduce downtime
  • Improve throughput and turnaround times
  • Optimize labor and equipment utilization
• Build and lead high-performing teams:
  • Direct leadership of supervisors
  • Oversight of ~40–50 frontline employees
• Maintain a safety-first culture aligned with strict operational standards
• Analyze operational data and performance metrics to drive decisions
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including community relationships

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 7+ years of experience in plant operations, manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments
• Proven ability to lead teams in high-pressure, fast-paced operations
• Strong experience in:
  • Operational efficiency and cost management
  • Continuous improvement (Lean, process optimization, waste reduction)
• Ability to lead both supervisors and frontline teams effectively
• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience

Preferred:

• Experience in Material Recovery Facilities (MRF), waste management, or recycling operations
• Strong background in data-driven operations and KPI management
• Demonstrated success improving throughput, uptime, and labor efficiency

Compensation & Benefits
