Nova Maldives is seeking a passionate Boat Crew to join our soulful island resort!
What You'll Do:
- Review the schedule each evening for the following day’s transfers and excursions, familiarizing yourself with guest details and specific requirements.
- Prepare the boat according to trip requirements and operating procedures, ensuring sufficient supplies of cold towels, beverages, seasick FIRST aids, and rain gear in rainy seasons.
- Work closely with the Boat Captain to complete all checklist items before trips.
- Ensure the boat is clean, fully set up, and ready at the guest jetty 30 minutes before departure, adhering to resort grooming and uniform standards.
- Assist guests throughout trips, especially during inclement weather, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Support the Boat Captain during trips and daily operations as needed.
- Follow maritime laws and safety regulations, maintaining compliance with the Seaworthy certificate requirements.
- Clean and maintain the boat and equipment according to schedules; report and follow up on maintenance issues with the Captain or Coordinator.
- Assist with maintenance tasks such as anchor points and navigation lights under direction.
- Take proactive safety measures, including checking for fuel leaks, ensuring life jackets and fire extinguishers are functional.
- Communicate guest requests and issues promptly with the Boat Captain or relevant departments.
- Manage guest queries efficiently and resolve issues within your authority; document incidents as required.
- Collect and relay guest feedback to ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
- Report any crew disciplinary concerns to the Transport Manager or Coordinator.
- Attend all designated training programs with enthusiasm and commitment.
- Foster positive teamwork and build strong relationships with colleagues across departments.
- Uphold and contribute to Resort Standard Operating Procedures and suggest improvements.
- Promote resort services and facilities actively to guests and stakeholders.
- Maintain professional grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards at all times.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and workplace regulations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management or the Resort General Manager.
What we're Looking For:
- Previous experience in boat operations or hospitality roles related to guest transfers and excursions is preferred.
- Knowledge of maritime safety laws and compliance requirements in the Maldives.
- Ability to work closely with the Boat Captain and follow instructions effectively.
- Strong guest service skills with a focus on safety, comfort, and professionalism.
- Good communication skills to handle guest inquiries and internal coordination.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of grooming and conduct.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Able to perform manual tasks related to boat cleaning and maintenance under supervision.
- Willingness to attend training and continuously develop skills.
- Adherence to resort policies on safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
- Flexible and adaptable to dynamic work environments and schedules.
