Job Title: Assistant L&D Manager - Nova Maldives

Nova Maldives has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced leader to join our soulful island resort as a Assistant L&D Manager.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the seamless operation and strategic development of learning and development initiatives.

As this is a hands-on, leadership role, it requires you to have a proactive approach to maintaining our high standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, deliver and evaluate training programs aligned with Nova Maldives’ service and brand standards.
  • Conduct regular Training Needs Analysis to ensure learning initiatives meet operational requirements.
  • Develop and implement the annual Training & Development Plan within approved budgets.
  • Create, update and standardize SOPs across all departments to ensure consistency with Nova Maldives brand standards.
  • Monitor and assure training quality, including auditing training outcomes and team competency levels.
  • Lead, support and supervise departmental trainers, ensuring effective on-the-job training and skill development.
  • Develop career development pathways and succession plans to enhance staff growth, productivity, and retention.
  • Oversee service quality assurance initiatives and support the implementation of the Nova Maldives philosophy.
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, feedback summaries, and documentation for all programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop training content, materials, manuals, and communication bulletins.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and brand standards across all training activities and materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement in training programs through evaluation, feedback, and innovation.
  • Support guest satisfaction and team engagement initiatives through targeted learning interventions.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure training initiatives support operational priorities and business goals.
  • Evaluate external training providers and manage relationships to source high-quality learning solutions.
  • Support onboarding programs to ensure new team members receive the required training from day one.
  • Facilitate cross-training opportunities to enhance multi-skilling and operational flexibility across departments.
  • Monitor team performance improvements post-training and recommend further development actions where needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training & Development, Education, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Talent Development within the hospitality industry (resort experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of training design and delivery, including competency frameworks, TNA processes, and adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated experience creating SOPs and service quality programs, with understanding of brand standards in luxury or upscale hospitality.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills, with the ability to lead departmental trainers and engage multi-cultural teams.
