Nova Maldives is seeking a passionate Commis to join our soulful island resort!

What You'll Do:

• Prepare thorough mise-en-place for all menu items.
• Cook orders according to established standards.
• Carry out tasks efficiently and optimize section performance.
• Maintain portion control and minimize food costs.
• Assist in all areas of the kitchen as needed.
• Ensure proper food storage in all areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Clean and maintain work areas, cold rooms, and equipment.
• Leave the kitchen clean, neat, and organized after each shift.
• Support other chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operation.
• Maintain effective communication with kitchen and service teams.
• Stay updated on resort products and activities.
• Resolve guest complaints professionally and satisfactorily.
• Follow grooming and hygiene standards, including uniform presentation.
• Comply with resort fire, safety, health, and hygiene policies.
• Attend on-the-job training to ensure standards are followed.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve kitchen procedures.
• Carry out any other duties as directed by supervisors or senior chefs.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role at a luxury resort.
• Having a certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Fast learner, take direction, and willingness to grow.
