Demi Chef de Partie (Teppanyaki)

Nova Maldives is seeking a passionate Demi Chef de Partie (Teppanyaki) to join our soulful island resort!

What you will do:

• Assisting the Teppanyaki chef to run the kitchen smoothly.
• Prepare and cook teppanyaki dishes in front of guests with precision, flair, and professionalism.
• Engage with guests during cooking, providing a memorable and interactive dining experience
• Assuming the responsibilities of the Teppanyaki Chef in his/her absence.
• Ensure all ingredients are prepped, portioned, and stored correctly in line with hygiene and safety standards.
• Uphold consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control standards
• Be able to work in other areas of the kitchen when required such as cold kitchen, hot kitchen etc.
• Maintaining effective communication between the kitchen and waiting staff.
• Responsible for proper storage of food in all areas.
• Cleaning and maintaining of work area, cold rooms and equipment.
• At all times, keeping updated on product knowledge of resort and related activities.
• Resolving guest complaints to the guests satisfaction within your level of authority.
• Maintaining excellent personal hygiene  ensuring resort's grooming and hygiene standards are met at all times.
• Abiding by all Workplace Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations at all time.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 3 year experience in Food Production in a luxury resort.
• Proven experience in teppanyaki and live cooking with excellent knife and showmanship skills.
• Solid knowledge of Japanese cuisine and food safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
