About the job Supply Chain Executive
Nova Talent are delighted to be working alongside our client, a world leading provider of Communication Solutions within the Aviation & Defence sectors. Together we are recruiting a Supply Chain Executive to join the Supply Chain Team, primarily based in Market Deeping.
The successful candidate will ideally have worked within Electronics and hold experience of working within global supply chains, strong negotiating and influencing skills alongside the ability to build solid relationships with suppliers.
A bit about what you will be doing:
- Make sure all Supply Chain activities follow the current process.
- Use past and forecast data, business knowledge, and commodity expertise to create and apply supply plans that meet internal customer needs while keeping costs low.
- Prioritise correctly and quickly raise purchase orders when needed.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to optimise value, flexibility, quality and ensuring supply is on time in full.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as the Engineering and Operations Team in relation to the procurement of goods, ensuring supplier alignment within the business.
- Perform supplier due diligence for both new & existing suppliers (annually). Acting accordingly on any red flags raised.
- Conduct annual re-costing and benchmarking activities, monitoring trends in commodity pricing and exchange rates.
- Engage with the planning team to determine appropriate annual volume forecasts, ensuring supply and stock for the forthcoming year.
- Negotiate with suppliers to optimise payment terms and ensure these are modelled correctly in MRP.
- Critique existing process and utilise best practices and knowledge to propose improvements and lead process improvement both within the supply chain and the wider business.
- Evolve/Create KPIs to monitor and control of purchasing activities, enabling informed decisions.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in supplier management, procurement, or related roles preferably within a technical manufacturing environment.
- CIPS qualified preferred.
- A strong eye for attention to detail.
- Knowledge of standard costs and formal benchmarking techniques and practices.
- Strong negotiation & influencing skills.
