ROLE OVERVIEW:

A leading technology organization is seeking a Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer (RF) to support military communication products throughout their full lifecycle, from development through production and obsolescence.

This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex RF, analog, digital, and manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on technical expertise along with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues across RF, analog, digital, assembly, SMT, and testing domains
  • Perform root cause analysis at the component level using simulation and experimental methods
  • Support new product introductions by collaborating with design engineering and troubleshooting prototypes
  • Mitigate component shortages by qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits and assemblies
  • Identify and implement design, process, and test improvements to increase yield and product quality
  • Ensure manufacturability and testability requirements are met for production environments
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to transition new designs into production
  • Address component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with vendors, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve material discrepancies
  • Lead technical investigations and provide guidance to junior engineers
  • Troubleshoot units, modules, and circuit boards to the component level

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills, including RF and analog circuits
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience designing and conducting engineering experiments and interpreting results
  • Proficiency with circuit design and simulation tools such as ADS and MATLAB
  • Experience leading small technical teams and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals
  • Ability to present technical findings clearly to various levels of leadership
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • 10 or more years of related experience in RF in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of RF engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with tactical radio systems and power amplifier hardware
  • Strong experience troubleshooting to the component level
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, ADS, and Jira
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including data analysis and presentation tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization and with external partners

Compensation:

In compliance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $110,000–$145,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
