About the job Database 2&A (LUW)
· Experience: Ideally 5+ years, but 23 years acceptable if strong technical skills.
· Responsibilities:
o Support application teams (object creation, query assistance, performance tuning).
o Level 1 support for DB performance and cleanup.
o Collaborate with senior DBA for escalations.
· Environment:
o DB2 LUW (not ZOS/mainframe).
o Database size: up to 5 TB; complexity due to multiple teams sharing schemas.
o Other DB platforms in use: Oracle, Postgres, Couchbase, Snowflake, Redshift.
· Team Structure:
o DBA team of 10; 2 dedicated to DB2, plus one floating resource.
· Work Hours:
o Standard 40-hour week.
o Occasional weekend work for planned releases (comp time provided).
· Interview Process:
o Round 1: Hiring Manager + 2 DBAs (Teams interview).
o Round 2: Deep technical discussion with senior DBA (Teams interview).
3. Location & Language
· Preferred: Nearshore (Mexico, LATAM) for time zone alignment (±1 hour from Kansas City, USA).
· Remote: 100% remote acceptable.
· English Proficiency: High level required (written and oral) past issues with miscommunication led to termination.
4. Duration & Future Outlook
· DB2 expected to remain for at least 5 years (sunset plan not yet started).
· Opportunity for cross-training on other DB platforms for long-term engagement.
5. Equipment & Compliance
· Previous model: Vendor provides hardware; ACI provides VM access.
· Candidate will undergo background checks due to financial industry compliance.
6. Timeline
· Start Date: ASAP, but realistically January 2026 due to holidays.
· Hiring Manager will provide interview availability (likely Mondays and Fridays in December).
