Bid Writer - Construction

Are you an experienced Bid Writer looking to take your career to the next level? We're working with a market-leading construction and utilities contractor seeking a skilled Proposal Writer to join their growing team in Harefield.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of high-quality bid submissions and proposals that help secure major projects across the utilities, construction, and infrastructure sectors. If you're passionate about tender writing, storytelling, and creating impactful proposal content, this could be the perfect role for you.

• Writing persuasive, well-structured responses for PQQs, ITTs, and framework agreements

• Leading and facilitating storyboard sessions to establish winning bid strategies

• Collaborating with teams across operations, HSEQ, commercial, design, and innovation to gather critical input
• Translating technical, commercial, and operational data into clear, compelling proposal content

• Ensuring full compliance with client specifications and internal brand guidelines

• Designing, writing, formatting, and editing all bid and proposal documentation

• Maintaining an up-to-date bid content library for use in future submissions

• Supporting the full bid writing lifecycle from strategy to final submission

• Managing multiple deadlines and prioritising effectively under pressure

What our Clients are looking for:

• Proven experience in a Bid Writer or Proposal Writer role (minimum 3 years)

• Industry experience in construction, civil engineering, or utilities bid writing

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• A proactive, confident communicator comfortable liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to simplify complex ideas into persuasive written proposals

• Strong time management and project coordination skills

• Familiarity with bid design software such as Adobe InDesign is a bonus

• Salary range of £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
