Shaping the Future of Space Hardware: Structural Analysis Engineer (m/f/d) at a Deep-Tech Boutique

Do you love the precision of complex FEM models but are tired of the rigid hierarchies and slow processes of large aerospace corporations? We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer for a highly specialized deep-tech company in the Munich area (Garching). Here, you will find the technical excellence of a global player paired with the agility and personal atmosphere of an elite expert team. We are looking for engineering personalities who have already gained solid experience in structural mechanics and are ready to see their work actually launch into orbit.

In this position, you are not just a cog in the machine...

...you are a key driver of product development. Our client is the European champion in a highly specialized niche: the design and manufacture of large deployable reflector systems for space missions. You will steer product design decisions through data-driven analyses—from the initial concept to the validation of flight hardware for ESA missions and international partners.

What you bring to the table

  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in structural analysis within the space sector (ideally familiar with ECSS standards).
  • You are an expert in ANSYS (APDL/Workbench) and proficient with FEMAP & NASTRAN.
  • You use Python, MATLAB/Octave, or FORTRAN to automate and optimize your workflows.
  • You don't just trust the software; you back up your FEA with precise hand calculations and spreadsheet analyses.
  • Since you will be working in a team of 21+ nationalities, fluent English (C1) is essential.
  • You are precise, quality-driven, and remain a solution-oriented team player even under milestone pressure.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have)

    • Experience with non-linear FEA.
    • Proficiency with Git for version control of your scripts.
    • German language skills (B2) are an asset.

    What's in it for you

    • Work on cutting-edge technology that secures European strategic independence and physically flies in space.
    • Modern working models with flexible hours and—after the initial onboarding—attractive hybrid or remote options.
    • Long-term project security (contracts through 2029+) in a privately financed, stable environment (non-VC).
    • Flat hierarchies, direct communication, and a family-like atmosphere with regular international team events.
    • A competitive salary plus performance-based bonuses, 30 days of vacation (negotiable), and a modern office with gym access, fresh fruit, and excellent public transport links.

Ready to push the boundaries of space technology in Garching-Munich?
