Trusts & Estates Attorney (Estate Planning and Settlement)

 Job Description:

We are working with an established, mid-size law firm seeking two attorneys with trusts & estates experience to join their Hartford or New Haven office.

One position is for an early career candidate with at least one year of experience in estate planning and/or estate administration. The other position is for a mid-level or senior candidate with at least five years of experience handling a broad range of trusts and estates matters with increasing autonomy.

Responsibilities may include drafting estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives; administering estates and trust, including probate proceedings and fiduciary accounting; advising clients on estate, gift, and income tax considerations; communicating directly with clients, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries; and collaborating with colleagues on complex or high-net-worth matters. Ideal candidates will have experience in in estate planning and/or estate and trust administration; familiarity with Connecticut probate procedures and applicable rules; strong drafting, organizational, and client communication skills; ability to manage multiple matters effectively and work both independently and as part of a team; and be admitted to the CT Bar, or have the ability to become admitted upon hire. Graduation from law school and practice experience is required.
