Construction Labor Law Litigation Associate (Attorney)

 Job Description:

We are working with a prominent, regional firm seeking a Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience to join their New York City office.

Ideal candidates will have litigation experience with a specific focus on defending NYS Labor Law (Sections 200, 240, and 241), construction litigation, and general liability matters. They will be responsible for matters from case inception to settlement or trial, including drafting memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, and briefs; researching construction labor law and personal injury issues and collaborating with senior attorneys to devise related defense strategies; drafting reports to clients, including deposition reports, medical record analyses, case analysis reports, and case valuations; managing discovery (including electronic discovery), including taking and defending deposition, and coordinating with and working-up expert witnesses; attending court appearances; preparing for trial and participating in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings.

The candidate must have experience with New York State Court practice (Federal Court practice is a plus), excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent research and writing skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high level organizational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. New York Bar admission required. Admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus!
