Litigation Paralegal (Medical Malpractice) - Hybrid Position

 Job Description:

We are working with a regional law firm with offices in the tri-state area and New England, seeking a Litigation Paralegal with at least one year of experience to join their Hartford, CT office.

Their ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working on civil litigation matters at a law firm. Experience with medical malpractice defense matters is preferred. This is a great opportunity to work on complex cases, involving hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. Duties include client contact, assisting attorneys with file organization and maintenance, drafting and preparing pleadings, managing discovery, preparing for trial, gathering, organizing and indexing medical records, deposition transcript management, e-filing in state and federal courts, and other case related duties as needed.

Candidates should have knowledge and prior experience with the state and federal practice book, strong research and writing skills, the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, solid verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with PDF software like Nuance Power PDF is a must, including experience with Bates stamping, combining/separating files, and editing PDFs. An associate's degree or paralegal certificate (bachelor's degree a plus) is preferred.
