Litigation Associate (Medical Malpractice) - Hybrid Position

 Job Description:

We are working with a regional law firm with offices in the tri-state area and New England, seeking a Litigation Associate with at least one year of medical malpractice defense litigation experience to join their Hartford, CT office.

Their ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working on medical malpractice defense matters at a law firm. This is a great opportunity to work on complex cases, involving hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. You'll have the opportunity to manage your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, managing discovery, conducting legal research, taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions, preparing for and assisting in hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, working closely with clients, experts and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.

Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut State Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdiction, upon hire, and at least one year of medical malpractice defense experience. Clerkship experience is a plus. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, strong attention to detail, stellar written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
