Legal Assistant (Civil Litigation) - Hybrid Position!
Job Description:
We are working with a regional law firm with offices in the tri-state area and New England, seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant with at least three years of experience to join their Hartford, CT office.
Their ideal candidate has at least three years of experience supporting multiple attorneys in a Legal Assistant or similar litigation support role at a law firm. This is a great opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional with strong litigation experience to play a key role on a collaborative legal team. Duties include preparing and revising legal documents, coordinating meetings, responding to client and court inquiries, managing e-filings, maintaining organized paper and electronic files, and other duties as needed. Whether you're juggling multiple calendars, proofreading a pleading, or stepping in to assist a colleague, your ability to stay organized and adaptable makes you an essential part of the team.
Candidates should have prior experience with federal and state court e-filings, a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures, excellent organizational, proofreading, and multitasking skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, electronic calendaring, strong attention to detail, solid verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with PDF software like Nuance Power PDF is a must. An associate's degree or paralegal certificate (bachelor's degree a plus) is preferred.
