Insurance Coverage & Defense Litigation Associate (Attorney)
Job Description:
We are working with a dynamic and rapidly growing boutique law firm, located in a desirable Hartford suburb, who seeks an attorney with at least two years of litigation experience in civil defense and insurance coverage. The ideal candidate will have experience in both areas. As to defense matters, the associate will assist in defending clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters from personal injury claims to complex commercial disputes.
Their ideal candidate will contribute to day-to-day case management, which includes communicating directly with partners and clients, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, managing discovery, attending fact and expert depositions, court appearances, trial preparation and trials. As to insurance coverage matters, the associate will complete research and writing on complex insurance coverage and bad faith issues and will assist in defending insurers in coverage litigation including defending against bad faith and unfair practices claims. Knowledge of state court practice and procedure is required, as is strong analytical, organizational, research and writing skills. Admission to the CT Bar, or the ability to become admitted upon hire, is required. Admission to the MA Bar and/or NY Bar is a plus!
