Workers' Compensation Associate (Attorney)
Job Description:
We are working with a regional law firm with offices in the tri-state area and New England, seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate with at least one year of experience to join their Hartford, CT office.
Their ideal candidate has at least one year of experience handling workers' compensation claims and/or insurance defense matters, and a proven ability to manage a caseload independently, while meeting deadlines and court requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a courtroom setting and arguing before the CT Workers' Compensation Commission, with demonstrated ability to handle hearings independently. Candidates must have experience preparing status updates and hearing reports, reviewing medical records, and analyzing employment documentation to build a sound case strategy. The ability to think quickly is essential. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience alongside top AV-rated attorneys working on diverse and challenging cases. Candidates should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut State Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdiction, upon hire, and at least one year of workers' compensation experience. Strong attention to detail, stellar written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, a professional demeanor, and a strong commitment to client service and results-driven representation is a must.
