Context

As part of a strategic project to extend our existing Cloud Kubernetes model to the Edge, we are seeking senior Kubernetes expertise to design, deploy, industrialize, and operate a distributed Kubernetes platform exclusively on Edge infrastructures.

The mission is to industrialize the Edge by leveraging urbanization engineering, security standards, automation, and best practices already established in the Cloud. The goal is to ensure overall consistency between the Cloud + Edge platform, while guaranteeing a high level of resilience and automation.

Mission

The expert will join the Cloud team, working in Agile methodology. Responsibilities include:

Architecture & Edge Deployment

• Deploying and operating Kubernetes clusters across multiple Edge sites
• Extending the governance and urbanization model from the Cloud to the Edge
• Implementing a declarative and fully automated lifecycle approach for clusters (provisioning, updates, resilience, decommissioning)
• Ensuring high availability of the Kubernetes infrastructure and its resistance to network failures

Security & Compliance

• Applying and enforcing security standards already established in the Cloud
• Implementing Pod Security Standards (Restricted)
• Dynamic security policies (e.g., Kyverno)
• Runtime protection and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response)
• Advanced microsegmentation

Observability & Operability

• Establishing comprehensive observability with SRE indicators
• Multi-cluster monitoring and alerting
• Resilience testing and backup/restore governance

Data Services & Platform

• Managing and operating database operators, notably CloudNativePG
• Contributing to a Platform Engineering model and self-service mechanisms for application teams

Support & Governance

• Technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams
• Promoting SRE best practices to project teams
• Participating in operational support for Edge environments in production

Deliverables

• Operational Kubernetes Edge platform from Dev to Production
• Declarative and standardized Cloud + Edge automation model
• Integrated security and observability in all clusters
• Complete technical documentation and adoption support

Required Skills and Expertise

Essential:

• 5+ years of proven experience with Kubernetes in distributed or hybrid contexts
• Mastery of declarative models and infrastructure management via Kubernetes (CRDs, API, GitOps, etc.)
• Strong skills in Linux, networking, security, and container runtime
• Advanced knowledge in high availability and multi-site resilience
• Good command of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or equivalent)
• Experience in Cloud Native observability (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.)

Appreciated:

• Knowledge of Golang (reading/modifying operators, CRDs)
• Experience in Platform Engineering and Self-Service
• Experience with database operators (CloudNativePG)

Desired Profile

We are looking for a Kubernetes Edge expert who is autonomous, pragmatic, and possesses strong technical leadership. The candidate should be able to extend and industrialize an existing model rather than create a new one, while ensuring operational consistency between Cloud and Edge.
