Job Summary
We are seeking an Engineering Team Lead to drive high-impact eCommerce initiatives at the intersection of technology and digital marketing. You will lead delivery, architect scalable solutions, and build conversion-focused Shopify experiences that directly fuel measurable growth for our partners.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical delivery: scope initiatives, break down work into epics and stories, manage trade-offs, remove blockers, and ensure milestones are met while keeping stakeholders aligned.
- Build and optimize high-converting Shopify storefronts (Online Store 2.0, Liquid, theme customization, performance, UX polish).
- Develop custom integrations and middleware services (APIs, webhooks) to connect eCommerce systems, automate workflows, and ensure data consistency across platforms.
- Design, build, and evolve internal SaaS-style tools (admin dashboards, reporting/partner portals, automation utilities) with scalable architecture, authentication, and role-based permissions.
- Own backend services (Node.js, Laravel, and/or Python), database design (primarily SQL; NoSQL when appropriate), and API architecture (REST/GraphQL), ensuring performance and security.
- Deploy and operate production systems on AWS, implementing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, analytics instrumentation, and reliability best practices.
- Partner closely with Design and Product teams to ship features quickly and iterate based on performance and business impact data.
Job Requirements
- Great English proficiency (B2+ Written and spoken)
- 5+ years of experience as a fullstack engineer
- Impeccable punctuality (schedules are flexible but being in time for meetings is crucial)
- 4+ years of full-stack experience in eCommerce environments (Shopify experience is a strong plus).
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one frontend framework such as React or Vue (Next.js/Nuxt.js preferred).
- Strong backend expertise in Node.js and/or Laravel and/or Python, including API development, webhook handling, and third-party integrations.
- Proven experience owning technical delivery: scoping projects, decomposing work, managing trade-offs, and delivering on schedule.
- Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS (e.g., S3, CloudFront, RDS, ECS/Lambda, IAM fundamentals).
- Solid engineering fundamentals: performance optimization, security best practices, code review discipline, documentation, and testability.
Nice to have
- Experience with Shopify Admin/Storefront APIs, GraphQL, app development, and subscription/checkout flows.
- Experience with funnel and checkout systems, CRMs, affiliate tracking, analytics pipelines, and server-side tracking.
- Experience building reporting dashboards, including event schema design, SQL modeling, and data quality assurance.
- Experience applying LLM workflows (e.g., merchant operations automation, automated reporting narratives, insights-to-action pipelines).
- Experience building SaaS or productized internal tools.
