Job Summary:

The AR/AP Specialist is responsible for managing the organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This role involves invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliation, maintaining financial records, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors or customers to resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process customer invoices and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding payment and invoice inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports related to AR and AP as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support audits by providing requested documentation and reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve AR/AP processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or a similar accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
