Role:
Ogilvy SA is seeking a Head of Shared Service: Finance & Financial administration to lead the business accounting function and manage the substantial transactional finance and payroll. The creation of the Shared Service function is a new initiative in the group and the successful applicant will be tasked with creating a best-in-class back-office finance function supporting the finance commercial leadership to ensure optimal group-wide compliance and transactional services. As a people centric business, the successful applicant will be responsible for technical and personal leadership growth and mentorship of the Shared Service team and build an engaging and service-oriented team culture. The Head of the Shared Service Centre will be required to constantly innovate processes, systems and ways of working to improve the effectiveness of the team and the service provided to its clients. Successful achievement in this role is reliant on sound partnerships with the senior Finance and Business Leaders across the units in the company, with the primary ambition of creating and driving an effective and efficient service oriented shared service centre. The Head of Shared Service: Finance & Financial administration reports into the Chief Financial Officer and the unit reports into Head Office servicing Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban opcos.

Main Responsibilities

·         Lead the accounting team through the transition to an outsourced model and chair regular meetings with key stakeholders to review performance and priorities

·         Responsibility for the efficient, accurate and timely processing, recording, and accounting of all financial retained transactions, including the production of month-end reports ensuring compliance with applicable accounting, tax, legislative and other regulatory standards

·         Oversight and management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury

·         Ensuring quality input and efficient processing by working with business colleagues and the third-party provider

·         Work closely with the Group Compliance Manager to ensure full compliancy with group and local compliance regulations (i.e SOX, POPIA…)

·         Lead the annual financial audit across the group working with the Group Finance Controller.

·         Develop KPIs to indicate performance levels

·         To improve processes throughout the shared service function

·         Train, develop and motivate the team members and build a positive culture of service

·         Introduce a culture of continuous improvement into the shared service teams
