THE BIT ABOUT THE TEAM

The Marketing & Communications Manager reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and works in close collaboration with the CEO and the Senior Leadership to achieve the business strategy.

Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as a center of expertise and leverage group-wide capabilities to execute the marketing plan. The successful candidate will also be part of the marketing and communication communities within Ogilvy EMEA and Ogilvy Global.

WE RELY ON YOU TO

  • Develop, execute, monitor, and manage the Groupwide OSA marketing and communication strategies, relevant global media partners, and stakeholders.
  • Be able to write a compelling narrative to that reflects positively about the Ogilvy Brand experience internally and externally.
  • Oversee content creation in relation to marketing the Ogilvy brand
  • Position the Ogilvy brand in alignment with the business strategy across both internal and external communication and marketing channels.
  • Social Media Community Management: Oversee the social media channels, alongside selected resources across the OSA business.
  • Manage the OSA brand to ensure creative and consistent communication of our work, people, culture, and stakeholders across all channels, maintaining the integrity of the brand.
  • Work across all businesses in OSA to deliver communications and marketing plans that build the agency's brand and reputation.
  • Manage and amplify the OSA brand on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor a Thought Leadership LinkedIn marketing plan for OSA leaders.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, partners (including Loeries, Creative Circle, Bookmarks, etc.), media, and pitch consultants.
  • Build, leverage, and archive Ogilvy South Africa Brand marketing assets.
  • Effectively manage Ogilvy Media Platforms, owned, paid, and earned.
  • Identify and oversee the development of fresh and innovative ideas to amplify the Ogilvy brand, including marketing platforms, events, panels, Thought Leadership articles.
  • Form strong relationships with global Ogilvy marketing leads/heads to ensure collaboration and the cascading of relevant global marketing messages for the OSA market.

YOUR TRACK RECORD SHOWS

  • Over 10 years of experience who has communications, journalism or agency background.
  • Successful management of a large brand for 4 years, encompassing strategy creation, creative execution, and marketing innovation.
  • Experience working with media.
  • Experience collaborating with senior executives.
  • Experience in, or a keen interest in, the creative aspects of the marketing and communication industry.
  • Proven management skills in leading teams.
  • A relevant qualification in communications, journalism, or marketing.
