About the job Group Account Director

Were looking for a Johannesburg based Group Account Director (with occasional travel to Cape Town) to lead three of our most exciting clients: Castle Lager, SunBet, and Eagle Extra (Zambia). This role demands more than just account management we need a self-starter, go-getter, and natural leader who thrives on selling big ideas, building trusted client relationships, and driving projects forward with energy and precision.

What were looking for:
  • Strategic and curious mindset: Able to see the big picture, ask smart questions, and push for ideas that make brands stronger.
  • Relationship builder: Someone who genuinely enjoys building strong, long-lasting partnerships including sharing a beer or two with clients.
  • Commercially sharp: Proactive in hunting down revenue opportunities, spotting growth avenues, and ensuring accounts deliver at their full potential.
  • Creative ally: A love of creativity and an ability to champion bold work that excites both clients and consumers.
  • Independent operator: Based in Johannesburg while most of the wider team is in Cape Town, this person must be comfortable working autonomously while maintaining excellent remote relationships.
  • Flexible collaborator: Willing to split time between client offices and our own offices in Johannesburg, with occasional travel to Cape Town for in-person team sessions.
  • Beer enthusiast: Must love the category, understand the culture, and enjoy immersing themselves in the brands.
  • Proven experience at Group Account Director level (or equivalent senior client leadership role).
  • Strong track record in managing large accounts, particularly in FMCG, lifestyle, or sports-related categories.
  • Exceptional client service, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • A natural presenter and seller of ideas, with the drive to make things happen.
