A senior strategist and manager, who leads client projects and manages junior members of the strategy team.

 Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Strategy

  • Acts as lead strategist on projects, building brand strategies and concepts, including but not limited to positioning, messaging, naming, portfolio strategy and employee engagement.
  • Executes our brand philosophy and ideas within the agency and to clients
  • Helps monitor and improve the quality of strategic output of the agency
  • ·  Helps facilitates senior executive workshops and meetings

 

Creativity

  • Develops game-changing creative ideas and briefs to transform client brands and businesses
  • Work with Creative Directors and Client Directors to ensure a high quality of output

 

Relationships

  •  Senior client contact point for who works with Client Directors to form long term senior-level client relationships, and seeks opportunities to develop farming initiatives
  • Ensures regular upward communication to the Exec Strategy Director

 

Management:

  • Manage the strategic output for large multi-faceted projects
  • Draw upon, brief and supervise consulting resources from the strategy team, when appropriate
  • Guide, motivate, mentor and direct team members ensuring their performance and development are managed using the performance review process
  • Support Executive Strategy Director and other director(s) with overall team management
  • Facilitate internal learning and development through the execution of training and workshops (for strategy and across functions)

 

Thought Leadership:

  • Assist the Exec Director in the development of the SU strategy offer in collaboration with other Directors, the Exec Strategy Director, and WW team
  • Write regularly to demonstrate leadership – white papers, press articles, etc, supporting marketing and PR
  • Share knowledge and insights through knowledge sharing and best practice case studies and deploy new tools and methodologies
  • Stay abreast of latest published thinking on branding, market based trends, brand successes, failures and industry business activity (mergers, acquisitions, opportunities)

 

 Education and Experience

  • Manage the strategic output for large multi-faceted projects
  • Draw upon, brief and supervise consulting resources from the strategy team, when appropriate
  • Advanced understanding of all branding deliverables and associated disciplines such as positioning, architecture, messaging, segmentation, research, engagement and interaction
  • Good grasp of research, analytics and business strategy, with the ability to effectively collaborate with client partners or vendors in those areas
  • Ability to grow, engage and maintain critical client and internal relationships
  • Able to persuasively present and discuss strategic issues at senior client level
  • Proven ability to deploy and manage resources
  • Strong business writing skills
