Director of Perioperative Services - Central Coast, California
We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Director of Perioperative Services to lead the surgical services team at a well-respected community hospital on California's Central Coast. This permanent leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a cohesive surgical services department, including 7 operating rooms, with direct support from two experienced managers. The ideal candidate is a visible leader who values clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and team engagement in a high-accountability environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all perioperative services, including OR, Pre-op, PACU, and Sterile Processing.
- Support and mentor the Managers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Partner with physicians and anesthesia to ensure optimal scheduling, case throughput, and patient safety.
- Champion quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance across all perioperative areas.
- Lead department planning, budgeting, staffing, and development to support organizational goals and community needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Registered Nurse with an active California license.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of perioperative leadership experience, ideally in a hospital setting with oversight of multiple ORs.
- Strong knowledge of AORN standards, surgical workflow, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams, building strong provider relationships, and driving measurable outcomes.
