Interim Respiratory Therapy Manager - Northern California

We are seeking a skilled and mission-driven Interim Respiratory Therapy Manager to support a busy hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area during a key period of operational and clinical alignment. This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned respiratory care leader who excels in fast-paced acute care environments and is passionate about elevating patient care through team development, protocol optimization, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Respiratory Therapy department, ensuring high standards of care, staff performance, and patient outcomes.
  • Assess current departmental operations and implement improvements in workflow, compliance, and care delivery.
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other allied health professionals to strengthen interdisciplinary communication and clinical integration.
  • Coach and mentor respiratory therapists while promoting professional development, accountability, and team engagement.
  • Support hospital-wide quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives related to respiratory services.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure readiness for surveys and inspections.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record as an RT Manager within an acute care setting with experience driving change and cultural alignment
  • Demonstrated success in union environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; capable of quickly building credibility across clinical and administrative teams
  • Availability to begin within 2-4 weeks from date of offer, and to be on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area for the duration of the engagement.
