A well-established industrial manufacturer, headquartered in Cincinnati is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead marketing strategy, public relations, brand management, lead generation, and day-to-day execution across a technical B2B environment.

This is a key leadership role within the marketing function. We are seeking a hands-on, commercially minded marketing leader who can support business growth, strengthen market visibility, and translate technical product value into clear, compelling messaging for industrial customers.

The ideal candidate will bring direct experience in B2B marketing, preferably within industrial manufacturing, technical products, engineered solutions, machinery, equipment, or a related environment. This role requires someone who can step in quickly, lead a small team, partner with senior leadership, and contribute immediately to public relations, industry messaging, lead generation, and brand execution.

Position Overview

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading a small internal marketing team while driving marketing strategy, campaign execution, public relations, brand management, and lead generation initiatives.

This individual will work closely with senior leadership, product stakeholders, sales, and internal marketing resources to develop and execute marketing programs that support company growth objectives. The role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with the ability to manage people, projects, vendors, deadlines, budgets, and performance metrics.

This is a high-impact role in a technical B2B environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with complex products, industrial buyers, long sales cycles, technical subject matter, and specialized industry audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, manage, and develop a small marketing team of individual contributors.
    • Set clear goals, priorities, timelines, and performance expectations for the marketing function.
    • Oversee day-to-day marketing operations, workload distribution, project execution, and team accountability.
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development support to team members.
    • Build a collaborative, organized, and results-driven marketing environment.
    • Ensure marketing activity is aligned with company objectives, sales priorities, brand standards, and growth goals.
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution
    • Partner with senior leadership to develop and refine marketing strategy in support of business growth.
    • Work closely with product, sales, and technical stakeholders to understand product positioning, customer needs, competitive differentiators, and market opportunities.
    • Translate technical product information into clear, compelling marketing messaging, campaigns, content, and collateral.
    • Manage multi-channel marketing initiatives, including website content, email marketing, SEO/SEM, social media, print collateral, content marketing, trade shows, and customer-facing campaigns.
    • Develop marketing programs that resonate with B2B industrial audiences, including manufacturers, technical buyers, OEMs, and related commercial customers.
    • Support new product launches, sales campaigns, customer communications, case studies, product literature, and market-facing content.
    • Oversee brand guidelines, brand consistency, messaging standards, and overall brand presentation across internal and external channels.
  • Lead Generation & Funnel Management
    • Own and optimize the marketing lead funnel from awareness through sales handoff.
    • Develop and execute campaigns that generate qualified leads and support sales pipeline growth.
    • Implement and improve lead nurturing programs, marketing automation workflows, CRM processes, and campaign tracking.
    • Use CRM data, marketing automation platforms, digital analytics, and campaign reporting to evaluate lead quality, funnel health, ROI, and conversion performance.
    • Partner with sales leadership to ensure marketing campaigns, lead follow-up, messaging, and funnel activity are aligned.
    • Recommend improvements to increase lead quality, campaign effectiveness, sales conversion, and marketing-driven pipeline contribution.
  • Public Relations & Brand Visibility
    • Develop and execute public relations strategies to strengthen brand awareness, credibility, and visibility within industrial and manufacturing markets.
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry media, trade publications, editors, partners, and other relevant external stakeholders.
    • Support earned media opportunities, press releases, trade publication articles, case studies, product features, customer stories, and thought leadership content.
    • Ensure consistent messaging across PR, digital channels, sales collateral, executive communications, events, and external brand touchpoints.
    • Assist with crisis communications or sensitive external communications when needed.
  • Events, Trade Shows & Industry Marketing
    • Oversee marketing support for trade shows, industry events, customer demonstrations, open houses, sponsorships, and related market-facing activities.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure events are professionally planned, executed, promoted, and measured.
    • Support pre-event marketing, booth messaging, event collateral, customer communications, lead capture, and post-event follow-up.
    • Ensure event activity supports brand visibility, customer engagement, lead generation, and sales pipeline objectives.
  • Budget, Reporting & Cross-Functional Support
    • Manage marketing budgets related to campaigns, events, outside vendors, PR, content, tools, and department operations.
    • Track campaign performance, marketing ROI, lead metrics, funnel activity, and overall department effectiveness.
    • Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, customer needs, marketing tools, and best practices in B2B industrial marketing.
    • Support cross-functional initiatives involving sales, product management, leadership, customer experience, and business development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience.
  • 3+ years of marketing leadership, management, or team oversight experience.
  • Proven experience in B2B marketing, preferably within industrial manufacturing, technical products, machinery, equipment, engineered solutions, or a related environment.
  • Experience managing a small team while remaining hands-on in marketing strategy and execution.
  • Strong understanding of lead generation funnels, campaign performance, marketing automation, CRM systems, and digital analytics.
  • Experience supporting sales teams through lead generation, messaging, collateral, campaigns, funnel management, and market-facing content.
  • Ability to translate technical products, services, or solutions into clear, compelling messaging for business and technical audiences.
  • Strong public relations, media relations, trade publication, brand messaging, and content development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work directly with senior leadership, product stakeholders, sales teams, technical subject matter experts, vendors, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, campaigns, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing experience within industrial manufacturing, technical products, equipment, engineered products, machinery, or complex B2B sales environments.
  • Experience with trade show marketing, industry events, customer demonstrations, product launches, or technical sales campaigns.
  • Experience building relationships with trade publications, editors, industry media, or relevant PR contacts.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems such as HubSpot or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, email marketing, social media strategy, digital campaigns, and website performance for B2B audiences.
  • Demonstrated success measuring and improving marketing ROI, lead quality, campaign performance, and funnel conversion.
  • Exposure to long-cycle, technical, consultative, or capital-intensive sales environments.
