Butcher – All Experience Levels.

Role Overview

Cosgrave's Butchers are currently recruiting across four locations and are looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join their teams.

We are particularly interested in hearing from qualified or experienced butchers; however, previous butchery experience is not essential. We would also welcome applications from candidates with a background in cheffing, hospitality, food retail or food preparation, as well as individuals with a genuine interest in food who are keen to develop their skills within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, cut and present meat and food products to a high standard, depending on experience.

· Serve customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable advice on products.

· Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation and freshness.

· Follow all food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.

· Assist with stock management, product rotation and merchandising.

· Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.

· Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store.

· Develop product knowledge and, where required, learn butchery and food preparation skills.

· Support the team during busy trading periods.

Skills & Experience

· Previous butchery experience or a recognised butchery qualification is highly desirable.

· Experience as a chef, within hospitality, food retail, deli, fresh food or a similar environment will also be considered.

· A genuine interest in food, quality produce and customer service.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment.

· Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

· Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.

· Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Who We're Looking For

We are open to candidates from a range of food backgrounds. You may already be an experienced butcher looking for your next opportunity, a chef looking for a change of environment, or someone with food retail or hospitality experience who would like to build a career within butchery.

Previous experience is valued, but attitude, reliability, customer service and a genuine interest in food are equally important.

For candidates without previous butchery experience, full training and support can be provided to help develop the necessary product knowledge and practical skills.
