District Sales Manager
Location: East Sales - NE1 Region. Long Island, Orange-Rockland-
Westchester Counties, & New York City (all boroughs)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and recommend viable distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturer representatives to market products effectively within the assigned territory.
- Train and provide ongoing support to distribution partners to establish and maintain an effective sales network to all segments of the business.
- Maintain close relationships with distributors, wholesalers, showrooms, and manufacturer representatives to monitor competitive sales trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Working and managing daily the rep agency and their direct reports.
- Working daily with wholesalers and showrooms on job specifications, pricing, showroom displays, technical assistance in the field with product issues.
- Lunch & learns and trainings at showrooms, wholesalers, & mechanicals.
- Processing Company internal paperwork per company policy.
- Provide training to local rep agency(s) depending on region.
- Communicate effectively with local, region, and corporate departments.
- Update showroom displays as needed.
- Achieve sales and profit targets for monthly, half, and yearly sales targets.
Sales and Business Development:
- Develop leads for medium to large construction projects and proactively pursue them through engagement with wholesalers, architects, general contractors, mechanicals and other relevant parties to secure project specifications and orders.
- Follow up on quotes and proposals to convert them into orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies within the territory to build brand awareness and recognition of company products.
Customer Support:
- Investigate customer complaints regarding defective products or unsatisfactory service and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Follow up on complaints to ensure satisfactory resolution between the customer and the company.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain up-to-date information on production schedules sales trends, and order status on CRM and excel reporting.
- Utilize company software systems such as Salesforce and SAP for reporting, tracking, and customer relationship management.
- Ensure all documentation and procedures are maintained in compliance with ISO policies related standards.
- Report any changes in the financial status of customers, ownership of customers, or market news directly relating to customers or their key employees.
Industry Engagement:
- Participate in select relevant association and industry groups.
- Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network and promote the company's products.
- Support companys gallery at key events and on occasion, some regional or national shows.
Showroom Management & Collaboration:
- Regular trainings and interaction with local kitchen & bath showrooms in the territory.
- Engagement with all direct and indirect showrooms to ensure displays are current.
- Maintain daily contact with distributors, wholesalers, manufacturer representatives, engineering firms, architects, general contractors, and other relevant contacts.
CRM & Key Performance Indicator (KPIs):
- Update information on Salesforce or any CRM on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
- Manage and achieve select KPIs as assigned, all related to the duties and responsibilities outlined above.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise local rep agency (depending on territory) and/or junior employees on a daily basis and monitor their responsibilities.
- Manage and supervise manufacturer's representative agencies within the territory in terms of sales targets and achievement.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business or Marketing.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of decorative plumbing industry experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to positively influence people and build strong relationships.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to travel overnight as required to service customers.
- Complete understand of companys software: Salesforce, SAP, Tableau, etc.
- Prior management experience requested.
- Must currently live within the described territory.
- Must have worked in local market for at least four (four) years.
- Must have extensive knowledge of local building market, wholesaler, market, and mechanicals.
- Ability to work alone and as a team.
- Must thrive on achieving sales targets.
- This is not an office based or work from home position. Majority of the work week will be visiting customers at their locations.
