Mechanical Superintendent – Riyas Project (Saudi Arabia)

Scope of Work

The Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the correct execution of all mechanical activities within the Riyas power plant project.

The position will focus mainly on the operation, inspection, maintenance coordination, and troubleshooting of the following main equipment:

Main Equipment Responsibilities

• Steam Turbines – 60 MW units
• Boilers – 5 units
• Associated auxiliary systems (pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, etc.)
• Industrial compressors (knowledge considered a strong advantage)

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical activities related to steam turbines and boiler systems.
• Lead and oversee all rotating equipment installation and pre-commissioning activities on site.
• Coordinate maintenance works (preventive, predictive and corrective), supervisors, subcontractors, and vendor representatives during critical installation phases.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, OEM requirements, and international standards.
• Supervise alignment, installation, inspection, testing, and mechanical completion of compressors and pumps.
• Support commissioning, start-up and performance monitoring when required.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance teams and subcontractors on site.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and plant operational procedures.
• Review technical documentation, maintenance plans and inspection reports.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and propose technical solutions.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and schedule performance.
• Manage technical interfaces between construction, engineering, commissioning, and client teams.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture on site.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring equipment readiness and integrity.
• Oversee punch list closure and system handover to commissioning.

Requirements

• Experience in power plants (thermal or combined cycle preferred).
• Strong experience with steam turbines (60 MW) and boiler systems.
• Knowledge of industrial compressors is highly valued.
• Previous experience in international projects or Middle East is a plus.
• Good coordination and leadership skills in site environments.
• Fluent English required.
